My Story Begins
My story begins when I am 6 years old, kidnapped by a man in his early 20’s, raped, and left in a grassy field high above Sausalito’s houseboats and fading beat culture.
My story ends when I manufacture 1 pint of nitro glycerin in my 6th grade chemistry class. The NY bomb squad responds and remove my brew. I am expelled from this Long Island school for the gifted.
My story begins at 15 when I buy my first pea coat at a second hand clothes store in San Francisco.
My story ends when I am rescued from a cliff 250 above the crashing Pacific surf and am arrested for trespassing inside a Nike missile base.

Live Reading

So I’ll read them into my computer for a fairly accurate transcription. Then I will edit them into the chronicles of growing up smart, white, and stupid.
“Publish your story already, Jerry, I’m 74 fucking years old, and I won’t live forever.”
